Finding the perfect lip-colour for the summer can be a real mood booster. Getting the right tone and shade can sometimes be a bit of a challenge too. Below I share with you my fail safe favourite lip-colours to try this summer.
Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
If you like the idea of an easy breezy low maintenance lipstick, this Lime Crime Plushies Lipstick has all the glamour of a pink lip without the dryness of a matte lipstick, giving you a subtle lip stain flush of colour with a matte finish.
With this ultra sheer lipstick, you don’t need to worry so much about undertones because this lipstick goes well even with my dark complexion. I find that pinkish toned lipsticks looks better with most undertones unlike some nudes which can sometime look completely wrong against certain skin-tones. So, if you are looking for a good investment in a lipstick that won’t break the bank – this lipstick is a great starting point for you to experiment with a beautiful colour.
With confidence, you have won before you have started
For a lipstick with more a bit more vow factor and staying power, then look no further than Mac’s Matte Lipstick in Russian Red. This matte finish lipstick is a red lipstick that goes with every skintone. To extend its staying power, I usually, prime my lips Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip-Fix Cream, I then apply the lipstick and coat the lipstick with Lipcote Original Lipstick Sealer. Tip: Use a lip brush, to get the perfect line at the lip edge.
Summer lips don’t necessarily mean bright in your face statement lips – nude lips with pink tones can look as beautiful and add that flush of colour without taking too much away from the rest of your face. I have a neutral undertone so nudes with pink undertones looks better on me. one lesson I have learnt in the search for the perfect nudes is to mimic your skin’s undertone. And because nudes can sometimes be a hit and miss especially with darker skintones. Which is why I love Rimmel’s 011 Spice lip pencil. Now I wouldn’t really say this is a nude lip pencil. However, on my it looks more nude than some nudes I have tried in the past. So, why not try one of my favourite lip pencils ever, Rimmel’s 011 Spice. This lip-pencil is not only cheap, it’ll last for ages. I recommend using a lip primer on your lips before you apply it which will prep your lips for the pencil and it will make application a lot smoother process.
